PEE

THE EFFECTS OF USING PEE WHEN WRITING A PARAGRAPH IS TO STRUCTURE YOUR ESSAY OR WRITING. P=POINT  E=EVIDENCE THIS IS WHERE YOU QUOTES SOMETHING FROM A BOOK ,LEAFLET    E=EXPLANATION THIS IS WHERE YOU EXPLAIN THE EFEECTS OF THIS ON THE READER OR THE THE AUDIENCE AND YOU WILL NEED TO USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE  AND ALSO USE GOOD PUNCTUATIONS AND YOU WILL NEED TO LINK THIS TO YOUR EVIDENCE AND POINTS.

EXAMPLE.JAMIE OLIVER LIKES TO USE LOTS OF SLANGS WHEN HE IS TALKING ON HIS TV PROGRAMME . FOR INSTANCE "BOSH THAT IN THE OVEN". THE EFFECT OF JAMIE OLIVER USING THIS SLANG IS BECAUSE HE IS TRYING TO ENGAGEHIS AUDIENCE IN HIS COOKING BECAUSE HE IS NOT USING FORMAL WORDS WHICH HIS AMATEUR FANS WILL UNDERSTAND AND ALSO FOLLOW HIS RECIPES AND THE INSTRUCTIONS                                                                                           yes

PEE is an essay-writing technique used in English. This Entry will explain what each letter means and give an example from a Romeo and Juliet essay.

Point - Make a point. This can be anything from a short sentence to a few lines.

Example - We first see Romeo in Act 1 Scene 1. He seems to be over-dramatic, and exaggerates everything he says.

Evidence - Quote the text. The quote needs to be related to the point you made.

Example - Mis-shapen chaos of well-seemed forms,Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is! (1.1.178-180)1

Explanation - Explain the quote, what it means, how it works, and how it backs up the point you made originally.

Example - In this quote, to exaggerate his point, Romeo uses a number of oxymorons. This quote also shows that Romeo is a very emotional and immature person as he is acting depressed just because one good-looking girl (Rosaline) turned him down.

The final finished paragraph:

We first see Romeo in Act 1, Scene 1. He seems to be over-dramatic, and exaggerates everything he says:

'Mis-shapen chaos of well-seemed forms, Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!' (1.1.178-180)

In this quote, to exaggerate his point, Romeo uses a number of oxymorons. This quote also shows that Romeo is a very emotional and immature person as he is acting depressed just because one good-looking girl (Rosaline) turned him down.

It is also possible to add an R on the end of PEE:

Review - Check your work, make sure there are no spelling mistakes, and see if you can improve it in any way. Reviewing your work and correcting your work could be the difference between getting a B or an A.

By following PEE, you have the necessary structure to write a good paragraph in an essay.

Structuring your writing.

A P.E.E essay can be linked to Romeo&Juliet and many, many essays.

P- Make a POINT, which is a keypoint which you picked out from a passage. (Important piece of information).
E- Pick out a QUOTE to support your idea.
E- This is giving an EXPLANATION for the idea which your supporting.

You could also add purpose into your work. This is something else that supports an idea.
This technique structures your writing.

I hope this helped!yes

PEE paragraghs

PEE paragraghs are used when you are reading a book in class. This is what it means:

P- Point = This is when you pick a keypoint out of a passgae or chapter. A keypoint is a emotion or feeling , happy, sad etc.

E- Evidence = This is when you pick out a quote from the passage or chapter combining with your keypoint. If your keypoint was sad (if you want a better grade/level use a better word than sad) pick out a quote that is sad.

E- Explanation = This is when you explian why the quote you have picked out is sad. Explain in full snetences not just a couple of words.

Before you write a PEE paragragh there is always a question.

EG:   book- Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

How does the writer show emotion in Chapter 1 of 'Girl Online'?

P- The writer shows emotion in Chapter 1 of 'Girl Online' by creating a image in the readers mind.

E- This is shown in the quote: 'A burning heat rushes through my body and I can barely breath.'

E- This suggests that the character , Penny, is having a panic attack. Futhermore, it shows that Penny is always on edge and alert. Therefore the reader can have a thing for Penny and understand what she is going through.

That is a PEE paragragh. If you wnat to praticse PEE paragraghs read a book any book will do and write PEE paragraghs. This is a great way of revising and if you show your teacher that you have been pratising they will be very pleased.

If you want a even better grade there is another paragragh called PEEKL. Don't be scared its just the same until KL.

PEE are the same.

K- Keyword = This is when you pick a keyword out of the quote you have choosen and explain why it is depressing or happy. If you can't choose a keyword you can do more than 1 word.

L- Link= This is when you link the point into the last part of the PEEKL

Here is a example of a PEEKL ( I am going to carry on my PEE paragragh and use KL )

K- Moreover, the word 'burning' is a metaphor as Penny is not literally burning. Therefore the writer ,Zoe Sugg, has done this to make the reader feel what Penny is feeling at the moment.

L- This is how the writer shows emotion in Chapter 1 of 'Girl Online.'

Hope this helped you to understand PEE pararaghs and PEEKL paragraghs which can score you a lot of marks in your work or exam.

I get told to use PEEED

I get told to use PEEED (point, evidence, explain explore, deeper thinking)

Point- Your point.

Evidence- Back up your point using a quote from the text.

Explain- Explain what this shows.

Explore- Pick out a word or phrase from the quote, and explain why this has been used and its effect. This is the best place to write about terminology which is now required in most exam boards now.

Deeper thinking-  Why has the writer done this? What is the effect on the reader? Maybe link to historical references.
