I've also been doing of mice and men.
And i have used this method to revise and get through the exam;
1.Look at past papers, but think of about 4 to 5 quotes you can do for each one. Don't write the whole essay until your completely sure what your answering, if it helps, go on the internet and look up "Of mice and men essays" and also put the grade you want next to it.
2.It can also help by reading other people's essay's who have better grades then you so you can see what your not doing.
3.When your writing the essay try and be as sensitive as you can, if your using something that could be afensive but it in speak marks so the examiner can see you understand it is a terrible word, for example "nigger", which is used alot in of mice and men. Also to discribe Lennie, say mentally disabled, not anything affensive. the examiner will award points for sensitivety.
4.Stuff as many past paper questions and made up questions in your head and just think about parts of the book that could link. When your doing everyday stuff, think about them. This helps when you first see the question it might be something you've already thought about, making planning time less and writing, checking time more.
All the best, i'm looking forward to monday, hope you are.
