Some advice on IGCSE coursework?
Hiya; I need to do a piece of either descriptive or narrative writing for my coursework and we were 'advised' to do the piece on 9/11 or another disaster. However, this idea did not appeal to me, so I started to write a little story. It's quite personal but I would like sme advice on whether I should submit it (as I think it's better than my disaster of a disaster description) and i dont know if my teacher will just say its not appropriate?
Any advice would be super appreciated :)

Personally, i think it's better to stand out when it comes to coursework. If your teacher has to read thirty plus pieces on the same topic, (s)he's going to get bored. You could always pitch your idea to your teacher first and just go on the answer you get! Good Luck! X
Lol lauren
Im doing my IGCSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE in June however i had done my ENGLISH LITERATURE last Thursday paper 1
good
I did my iGCSE in June 2013 and for the descriptive coursework we had a choice of four different themes. The theme I went with was something like 'a dark place'. I described the streets of London in the seventeen or eighteen hundreds, if you've ever seen Sweeney Todd that's basically what I did! Include all of the techniques and make it stand out and I got full marks so!
I agree with lauren11
let your teacher check
I am doing the advanced IGCSE, same things, just a stricter mark scheme as I only acheived a B in English Language!
I was told to do a story and make it up, so you should be ok. Also, maybe submit a draft to a different teacher, ask for a HTI and improve from there..
Good Luck!!! :)
Your teacher is only there to teach you. He/she can't force you to write about 9/11. If you feel more confident writing about a different topic, then go for it.
