okay so, counter-urbanisation is when people move out to the country........is this a cause of urban sprawl( which is the growth of an urban area into the country) or is it people just moving out to the country rather than the rural urban firnge so that the urban area is not actually growing ?
totally confused during revision .......could somebody please explain thses terms to me?
thanks so much
this replies a bit late :P but incase anyone else is wondering:
urbanisation is a cause of urban sprawl. as the city or town' populaion grows so does the city therefore it spreads out and nearby land is built on. THis is why green belt has been introduced to contain the area of a city or town.
counter-urbanisation helps reduce urban sprawl really, it is just when instead of moving to the city people move away, so instead the little villages in the countryside. if everyone started moving away from sities they would actually shrink!
so no they're not related
hope this helps xD
beckyjsmile is correct. Simply put urban sprawl iss the growth of urban areas :D
