Different methods of geophysical surveys used in mineral prospecting
Did you know about the different methods of geophysical surveys used in mineral prospecting? The first one I read is about Reflection seismology. In this, a vibration is induced in the earth’s surface using a machine or a series of dynamic blasts. The seismic wave thus created reaches the earth’s mantle from where the wave is reflected back up to the earth’s surface. And that is analyzed or measured.
The two other methods that I read in the site gemsys.ca are Gravity and Magnetism. Though they have give a very little information, I didn’t understand much about how it will work. Does anyone know?
