I think some people do have photographic memories!!
Visual cues are the easiest way to remember things. My stepdad can tell you exactly where things were on a table, as he sees a picture of it in his head.

I think that some people have photographic memory because that is how some people learn. No matter how much you love a subject does not mean that you have a photograpic memory for that. And why can people that hate a subject have a photographic memory for it?

Photographic memory, I believe we all have some version of and maybe its trained I'm not sure. I do know that people are different, for example I remember flashcards so easily I almost have to put no effort in for learning vocab, some people find mind maps or something.

Secondly Photographic memory people do exist, I watched a video on Autism or something like it a few years back at school. It had many people who had some form of autism but caused them to have photographic memory, one person could remember the weather and events of any date he had lived. Another remembered the decimals of Pi to thousands or something.

This is the extremes and they naturally have it from something to do with their brain. However I think as I have said we all have it, and probably is developed just like any other skill through experience and practice :)
