Answer

The home is a place of happiness and joy to those still alive, but sadness to the speaker who is dead. It is a ‘much frequented house’ full of her friends who are ‘feasting’ drinking wine, which they share ‘from hand to hand’.

The house is ‘familiar’ (stanza 4) and seems to be a place that goes on, despite those who are alive slipping away. A building and a house can carry on long after someone is dead and the essence is a house isn’t just one person. Others will continue to live there and bring happiness and joy.
