He reflects on this as the weather ‘turned around’ again as did the ‘true joy of the long dead child’ which could be the young Thomas, who he sees as long dead now, as he is no longer innocent and able to see ‘true joy’.

Now in his 30th year he asks that ‘my heart’s truth still be sung on this high hill in a year’s time’ he asks for more time alive to be able to reflect on his own truth which he wants to ‘sing’ as if to proclaim joyfully his feelings.
