By the end the candidate is very depressed and when asked ‘and you were born -? The candidate cuts off the interviewer in time to say ‘yes. Pity. At which point the interviewer is rudest of all when replying ‘So glad we agree.’ The poem ends on this blunt note and we can be in no doubt that this candidate did not get the job and would have left feeling very depressed.
