Answer

The fourth stanza involves the interviewer making harsh comments about the interviewees looks, with the comment ‘you do appreciate this work involves contact with the actual public’ as if they are so hideous that this might be wrong, especially with the line ‘might they, perhaps, find your appearance disturbing?’ Again there is a general sense that this is a common issue in interviews when someone is given a job because they look attractive. Interviewers in the real world will not be quite as rude and direct as the one in the poem ,but there is a sense that they may as well be as this is what they are thinking.
