Answer

The candidate’s responses are brief, but this is probably because they are not given much time to speak. This is reflected in the form of the poem, where the replies are almost ignored by the interviewer as they are separated to the right of the page and none of them end with a full stop to show that the answers are not finished and, in many cases, barely started.
