Essay Plan

The examiner is looking for you to show that you understand firstly the character of Boo Radley and secondly the lessons that the children learn from Boo.

The examiner wants to see whether or not you agree with the statement.

Plan

1 – Introduction

What are you going to do? You are going to argue either for or against this statement, i.e In this essay I am going to explore the fact that Boo teaches the children some lessons.

2 – Boo Radley

Consider the character of Boo Radley.

What is his role in the novel?

How is he perceived by others?

 What is Boo’s character like?

3 - Does he teach the children?

It is in this section that you need to argue either for or against the statement.

You may choose to argue that Boo does teach some lessons, or you may consider Atticus as the main educator, this part is about your opinion however you MUST support every point you make with a quotation.

4– Conclusion

Come to a firm conclusion do you or do you not agree with the statement?

To what extent do you or do you not agree?

Maybe end with a quotation

REMEMBER TO USE P.E.E/PQD THROUGHOUT.
