The examiner is looking for you to show that you understand the events in the novel and why they are dramatic, and how drama is created throughout.

Plan

1 – Introduction

What are you going to do? You are going to explore two events in the novel which are dramatic.

2 – The events which make it dramatic

Select two events – which you consider dramatic, explain why you think it is dramatic and how drama is created in each scene.

3 - How the writer makes it dramatic

Discuss how the writer makes it dramatic.

This really requires you to discuss the language used in the novel and in particular these two scenes.

4 – Conclusion

Come to a firm conclusion which scenes do you consider to be dramatic and why.
