The examiner is looking for you to show that you understand the character of Lennie and the relationships he has with others.

You should consider Lennie as a character by looking at the language he uses to interact.

This question really requires a close reading of two conversations of your choice.

Plan

1 – Introduction

What are you going to do? You are going explore Lennie’s character by looking a specific scenes in the novel and how he interacts with others.

2 – Two Conversations

You must first select your two conversations You must then analysis these two conversations looking at language, words and actions.

You must consider how Lennie behaves towards others and how others behave towards him

You must then explain how these conversations show that Lennie has a problem fitting in.

3 - Conclusion

Come to a firm conclusion sum up your analysis and explain why Lennie has problems fitting in.
