The examiner is looking for you to show that you understand the characters in the novel but also that you understand the term sympathy and that you have sympathy for characters.

Plan

1 – Introduction

What are you going to do? You are going to consider which characters in the novel you feel sympathy for.

2 – Who you sympathise with

You need to select a number of characters you sympathise with throughout the novel and explain why you sympathise with these characters.

Consider characters words and actions.

3 - Who you sympathise with most

You need to select ONE character who you have most sympathy for.

You need to discuss this character in detail referring to why you feel sympathy for them.

You must use relevant examples from the novel of times when you feel sympathy.

4 – Conclusion

Come to a firm conclusion sum up who you feel sympathy for and why?

REMEMBER TO USE P.E.E/PQD THROUGHOUT.
