Wilfred Owen

Wilfred Owen (18 March 1893 – 4 November 1918) was an English soldier and is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of the First World War. His gritty, bleakly realistic verse exposed the horrors of trench and gas warfare, famously challenging the patriotic, romanticised notions of military glory. Tragically, Owen was killed in action at the age of 25, exactly one week before the Armistice was signed.
